Dr. Ajit S. Randhawa emigrated to the United States in 1971 as an accomplished research scientist, veterinarian and professor. His career reflected his passion for learning as a scientist and clinician. His personal life was dedicated to family and the education of his children. Through his efforts, nearly 100 relatives of the Randhawa family emigrated, settled and succeeded in the United States. This film brief tells his story.
Dr. Randhawa's belief in the power of education and the nature of discovery is reflected in his career and family lineage.
The Dr. Ajit S. Randhawa Scholarship Fund is supported by his children and relatives who share in the philosophy of education and discovery. The scholarship fund is availalbe to support undergraduate and graduate students who are matriculated at four year universities with an eventual career goal to pursue clinical and tranlsational scientific research.
The four year award will be contingent upon application submission, review, and interview by the scholarship committee.

Eldest son of Dr. Ajit S. Randhawa, Ruvdeep (left) is an accomplished pediatric endocrinologist and director of the department at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center. He also holds clinical appointments at the UCR School of Medicine. His early career involved academic research focused on long term outcomes of fetal growth restriction and SGA neonates. His clinical focus is in the area of pediatric diabetes and other endocrinologic/metabolic disorders. He has developed many of the pediatric diabetes care protocols used regionally at Kaiser Permanente. His current clinical research looks at quality care in chronic illness and disorders of pubertal tempo.
Youngest son of Dr. Ajit S. Randhawa, Inderpal (right) maintains board certification in internal medicine, pediatrics, immunology, allergy, and pulmonary disease. His career highlights include over 85 peer reviewed publications, clinical and translational research grants with academic appointments at both UCLA and UC Irvine Inderpal's focus is on rare and orphan conditons. He is the founder of the Translational Pulmonary & Immunology Research Center.
